Emritus Professor John Burland gave us a lecture titled "Rescuing the Leaning Tower of Pisa - the inside story". This event was co-organised by SKK and Institute of Industrial Science (IIS), University of Tokyo. More than 100 people attended.

Professor Burland has notably been involved in the rescuing the Leaning Tower of Pisa for which he was a member of the Italian Prime Ministerfs Commission for stabilising the tower.
